Homesick v. Sick of home
I’ve been living in a college town for the past 9 years and have moved about once every year I’ve been here. So I’ve learned quickly that some places feel like “home” and some simply never will. The feeling I’ve come to recognize more recently is when a place feels like home for some time, then with the change of job, friends and relationships, the place I called home simply doesn’t feel like home anymore. The place I’ve called home for the passed year used to be really comfortable to me and somewhere I loved to be all the time. Lately, it’s a place I go to do laundry and pick up some clean cloths. I don’t like being there. It feels cold, lonely and I feel uneasy there. I’m not sure why, but it’s getting to be overwhelming at times. I’ve got the idea in my head to relocate. Maybe that is why I’ve been emotionally cut off from my “home”. Its getting to the point where I’ll spend most of my day thinking about California and living there soon. Hope I can use that feeling to drive me and get me where I want to be. I’m sick of my home and ready to be in a new place, with a new mission and a new appreciation for my surroundings.
